Whats Up with the Owens Family?
Jan 26, 2003 - We had a tragedy happen, with Toby, our Chihuahua. He ran into the neighbors yard last week and slipped into their pond, which was partially frozen. He drown and Troy found him, not long after he got out. Needless to say, we're devastated. Jenna especially, as they were really pals. We've been blessed with another puppy already, however. Yep, another Chihuahua, Cymba. Hoping we have another one that doesn't bark much.
Feb 2, 2003 - Troy is going to San Diego with his Soccer team again this spring, its official they are invited to the NOMADS Showcase tournament. Matt is going to play some spring baseball in Phoenix area over his break, so the whole Ownes family will be split up again for a kids week off! 8 years and things still the same! Its so much fun though.
Feb 4, 2003 - Matt finished his regular Wrestling season. He's done well, finishing 24-11 and beating some top ranked kids. Regionals next weekend, where he stands a good chance to qualify for state. He beats the kids that are good when he doesn't know who they are, and ties the top kids. Should be a fun experience. his good friend just borke his ankle really bad, and this is his Senior year. Matt's kind of down about that, but using it to psych himself up. Matt was kind of freaked about how bad the injury was... he doesn't want that to happen, it would kill him for baseball season. His baseball team has some real neat stuff planned, in addition to the Phoenix trip... Playing in COORS FIELD!!! Rick is going to play announcer for the games too. Should be fun for the whole family, as Matt's high school baseball team is really going to be good this year.
